Introduction

Walgreens is a company that primarily stocks and sells pharmaceutical items, ranging from supplements to prescription refills, but also other goods such as contact lenses, fragrances, personal care products, cosmetics, fitness items, and more. They have brick-and-mortar shops that you can visit and an online store that offers free shipping.

What to Buy

Being essentially a pharmaceutical chain, Walgreens sells a wide range of pharmaceutical goods, whether it is prescription refills or supplements. Aside from their own brand of products, they do distribute other popular brands of supplements and prescriptions as well, such as Nature’s Bounty, Nature Made, Schiff, Finest Nutrition, and more.

They provide numerous services as well, for instance, their Save-a-Trip Refills system allows you to pickup multiple prescriptions on a single date, or their Home Delivery Pharmacy service where they basically deliver your purchases straight to your doorstep. There’s even a Prescription Savings Club where you can save some cash for every prescription you fill at Walgreens and an auto-reorder system to ensure that you’ll never forget to refill a prescription.

Not to mention, Walgreens offers simple medical and health services as well, such as flu shots and immunizations and healthcare consultations for minor illnesses, conditions and injuries, treatments for smokers who want to quit, optical services, hearing aid services, clinical trials, and more. Aside from lab services, you can buy medical apps like Propeller from Walgreens which is designed to help asthma patients keep their conditions under control.

However, over the years, Walgreens has greatly diversified its offerings, turning it into more of a retailer like Walmart and Target but with a pharmacy division. The company also sells tons of other items, some of which can be related to health and wellness in general such as fitness gear and exercise equipment, home healthcare equipment and tools, organic foods, and sports/energy bars and drinks, while others are generally normal household items like groceries, toys, cosmetics, personal care products, pet products, and others.

Oddly enough, they now provide photo-printing services through their Walgreens Photos brand too, giving you all the online tools you’ll need to convert your photos into the perfect little gifts, such as calendars, cards, stationeries, photo books, canvas prints, posters, and so on.

Highlights

Interestingly, Walgreens has a special rewards system where you can link your health app or device, exercise, and track your health levels to earn Walgreens’ Balance Rewards points. There are limits as to how many points you can earn per day or month from doing a certain activity, but generally you should be able to earn enough points to get yourself some fantastic discounts on your Walgreens purchases.

They provide weekly promotional ads where you can clip coupons and get a nice deal on things that you intend to buy. There are also special discounts for special days, such as Seniors Day, and promotions, such as their Buy-1-Get-1-Free offers. Shipping to the nearest Walgreens store is free but if you want them to ship your purchases to your front door, you will need to buy more than $35-worth of products first.

Is It Time to Buy?

Well, the name Walgreens has always been synonymous with trustworthy pharmaceutical products since 1901 and it will remain so for the foreseeable years to come! It’s also great that the company now sells so much more products, making it a lot more convenient for people to purchase everything they need from a single location. There are many coupons and discounts available, and if you’re all about fitness, you can get some reward points simply by doing what you love. It’s a win-win!
