Introduction

Jane is an American daily deal marketplace serving as a platform for over 2,000 independent boutiques to sell affordable curated apparel, accessories, home décor, beauty & wellness products and more from the ease and convenience of one site.

What to Buy

If you’re a shopaholic, you understand the frustration well—that of trying to find high-quality, but affordable clothing, shoes, and accessories that aren’t fast fashion cookie-cutter clones of each other. That, unless you are lucky enough to live in a hip (but usually pricy) area with a diverse array of independent clothing boutiques, you’re stuck with the choices you find at your local big box or discount store.

The appeal of small boutiques often comes from finding unique pieces and styles that are often passed over by larger retail chains. Buying from boutiques also helps support small businesses, many of them advocating for sustainable practices—a growing trend in retail.

The downside is that independence and better quality usually translates into higher prices. Jane, however, aims to erase that preconception with its unique concept of using its platform to connect thousands of small clothing, accessory, home décor, lifestyle and wellness boutiques to online buyers across the country.

Established in 2011 and based in Lehi, Utah, Jane.com is a fresh take on online boutique shopping, offering small businesses the opportunity to partner with them and grow their business in ways they previously thought impossible by taking advantage of Jane’s sophisticated e-commerce sales and marketing infrastructure.

Shopping on the Jane website and app is a straightforward affair of browsing their main menu of categories for Women, Jewelry & Accessories, Home, Kids & Baby, and More (Men, Pets, Fun Finds, Personalized, and Beauty & Wellness). Keep scrolling down and you pretty much get the entire Jane daily deal catalog laid out, with each item listing an attractive thumbnail, price, and whether or not it offers free shipping. Deals usually go live at 12am Mountain Time and most of them run for a maximum of 72 hours unless they sell out early.

As for the prices, they are really hard to beat, with most merchandise costing under $30 for everything from colorful ethnic-print tunics and cute platform flip-flops to vintage amber bottle sets and handmade knitted rattle dolls made in Kyrgyzstan.

Jane.com also has a unique Sneak Peeks section where you can find a preview of the next day’s deals revealed every day at 4:00 pm ET. Leave the remembering part to them. Just favorite a Sneak Peek, and when you come back to the site, they'll let you know as soon as it's live. You can also share a Sneak Peek with your friends on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Snapchat) as well as get Instant Access to the next day’s deals if you place an order before 4:00 pm ET!

Jane is also quite renowned for their regular Giveaway offers. Simply sign up to the Jane email list and they’ll let you know when a Giveaway promotion starts where you can win anything from exciting vacations to a year’s worth of Jane apparel and accessories.

Highlights

Do take note that since items on Jane come straight from their small boutique partners, many of the merchandise may be in limited quantities, so, if there is something you know you want, and they have the right size and color, you are highly encouraged to check them out sooner rather than later.

Unless a particular seller/boutique specifically indicates that they offer Free Shipping (and many of them actually do!), Jane.com generally charges a flat rate shipping and handling rate of around $2.99 to $4.99 for the first item purchased with each additional item free of charge or at a discount (within the US only).

Each item must be charged a separate shipping fee because of the varied boutique vendors and locations Jane sources their products. Although the shipping cost is cheaper than other online stores, the cost could potentially add up if a customer wants to purchase multiple items from the portal.

In relation to individual vendor logistics, Returns, Exchanges & Refunds would, thusly, be coordinated directly with the seller whose contact information can be found together with the specific order information in your My Account page. You will then have 14 days from when you received your order to start the return process with items strictly returned within 21 calendar days from when you received your order for a return to be accepted. After the seller has received your return they will contact Jane Customer Support directly to initiate your refund for the item(s) only. Shipping fees are nonrefundable unless the item is damaged or incorrect.

Furthermore, digital, personalized, food, and hygiene-related items (diapers, intimates, beauty/grooming products, swimwear, etc.) are non-returnable.

Is It Time to Buy?

With a unique business model focusing on bringing the country’s best independent boutiques under one sales portal and aggressively marketing their products through time-sensitive daily deals; Jane is a great way to discover high quality curated—yet also affordable—items as well as to support small businesses from the convenience of your computer or smartphone app.
