What to Buy

Anyone who has perused major fashion magazines, designer apparel websites, and even social media sites such as Instagram will notice how a vast majority of clothing advertised is targeted towards women of a certain age range—in particular that of late teens to early 30s. What’s more, silhouettes lean towards certain (youthful) body types and tend to be avant-garde in designs more favored by younger, more experimental women. That said, it is probably fair to assume that none of these sites are intended to capture the attentions of the 35-year-old and above female market, despite the segment having a purchasing power rated as one of the highest and most influential in the market.

Fortunately, there are several brands that continue to focus on classic, chicly tailored yet still on-trend women's clothing favored by older women such as J. Jill. Founded in 1959 as a catalog clothing company for women, J. Jill remains committed to the promise at the core of its brand—the celebration of the over-35 woman and the recognition of her confidence and unique sense of style. Whether you shop from their international website, print catalogs, or retail stores across the U.S., J Jill can be relied upon to offer stylish casual and work-relevant clothing in mix-and-match tops, pants, sweaters, skirts, jackets, and dresses plus shoes and accessories available in misses, petite, tall and plus sizes.

J.Jill is all about easy, relaxed, inspired style that reflects the confidence of a successful, sophisticated woman with a rich, full life. To start shopping on J.Jill.com, you can begin browsing according to: Keyword Search at the top-right corner of each page where you can locate specific items by entering keywords, phrases, sizes, colors, etc.; Category such as size or product; and Sale for newly reduced merchandise in one convenient location.

One of the more popular ways to shop for J. Jill apparel, however, is through their renowned, classic Collections that primarily professional women have been familiar with for decades, including:

Pure Jill for casual, comfortable every day styles featuring organic shapes, nature-inspired colors, soft fabrics, relaxed silhouettes, and signature design details like tassels, dip-dyes and textures.

Wearever component pieces, meanwhile, are designed to give you comfortable work, travel and home options. The wrinkle-resistant knit styles are versatile and pair easily any piece in your wardrobe, and feature everything from great fitting full-leg and slim-leg pants and flattering pencil skirts and dresses, to breezy tanks and tunics and warm jackets.

J.Jill FIT Collection on the other hand, meets the demands of your everyday life and is designed for misses’, petite, tall and plus sizes for made-to-move performance whether you’re going to the gym, practicing yoga, doing errands, and more. Essential pieces such as leggings and workout tops in this collection feature performance fabrics with moisture-wicking capabilities so you’re always comfortable when on the go—without sacrificing style.

What’s more, J. Jill has recently ventured into Collaborations with their first capsule collection being with celebrity Project Runway winning fashion designer Christian Siriano where he features a curated age-and-size-inclusive line of gorgeous separates, dresses and accessories ranging in sizes XS-4XL and 0-28; all priced between a super affordable $39 and $209.
