Introduction

Dollar Shave Club is among the few truly disruptive startups that have made waves across its industry. Unlike many other, more traditional shaving brands, the Club has a subscription-based system where they will ship you your monthly supply (the shipping schedule is completely customizable) of razor blades. The company also sells a wide variety of other personal care products.

What to Buy

Dollar Shave Club sells a range of personal care products that you can buy, including shaving supplies, showering items, oral care products and even butt wipes that are either individually packaged or come in a larger pack of 40 wipes.

As mentioned, Dollar Shave Club stands out from its competitors mainly because of its unique monthly subscription system specially-designed for men (and also women) who shave, but also partly because of the old-school, vintage-like appearance of its products.

How does the subscription work? Well, you can opt into the subscription simply by paying $5 for the Starter Set. There are two Sets you can choose from - the Daily Essentials which contains a 6-blade razor, a pack of blades, shaving butter, body cleanser, and some wipes, or the Ultimate Shave Set that includes the same items while swapping the body cleanser and the wipes with a Prep Scrub and a Post Shave Dew.

After you’re in the Club, so to speak, you simply need to pay an average of $9 per month to get replacement blades. You can also customize the shipping schedule to your liking and get your replacements every 3 months instead of one, for instance.

This system just works well for everybody because they get to make a tidy monthly profit from your subscription while you get to enjoy the convenience of not having to worry about replenishing your shaving supplies… especially when you needed it the most.

Not to mention, the Dollar Shave Club also provides its subscribers with a sense of being part of something exclusive, much like what Gentlemen’s clubs used to offer back in the day. However, unlike Gentlemen’s Clubs, the Dollar Shave Club welcomes females too since they need to shave as well!

That being said, if you’re still unsure about their products, you can buy the trial kit and give their items a try.

Highlights

The Dollar Shave Club aims to not only make shaving less of a hassle for people, especially those who need to do it every day; it also has better products overall. You can gift the Club’s membership to a friend or if you have friends who you think might be interested in joining the Club, you can ask them to use your referral so you can earn some DSC credits. These credits can then be used to purchase any item in their store.

Canceling your subscription isn’t a chore either. You can do it anytime you want and it’s really easy to do so.

Is It Time to Buy?

If you frequently shave and are prone to forgetting to stock up on your shaving supplies, then the Dollar Shave Club is definitely the subscription you need. Join the Club!
