Introduction

Adobe Document Cloud houses Adobe’s text-oriented tools to create, edit, sign and share PDF documents on any device you like.

What to Buy

Adobe Document Cloud mainly contains two of Adobe’s text-oriented tools to create, edit, sign and share PDF documents – Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Sign.

For Adobe Acrobat, it isn’t simply a PDF reader or viewer that only allows you to open PDF files; it even allows you to edit your document directly via Acrobat or via other software after you’ve exported the PDF into other document formats. You can even scan actual documents, images, webpages or documents in other formats and convert them into PDFs as well. Best of all, since Acrobat is available cross-platform, you can basically access your PDFs anywhere you like.

Adobe Sign, on the other hand, is perhaps the more important product under the Adobe Document Cloud suite of products. With Adobe Sign, users can easily, legally, and securely sign PDF documents digitally to move things forward. The software is also integrated into Microsoft, and other enterprise apps so it is easy to use.

The most interesting thing, however, especially for industries with particularly rigid regulations and security standards, is that Adobe Sign has an automatic audit trails feature, ensuring that every signed document is archived in a secure cloud-based repository and can be easily looked up as necessary. This effectively reduces legal risks that are often associated with electronic signatures.

Purchasing an Acrobat or Sign subscription is very easy, and Adobe does provide you with really flexible subscription plans. They even offer a free trial for Acrobat Pro DC for 7 days if you’re still on the fence about their premium product. Unfortunately, there is no free trial for Adobe Sign.

Highlights

Adobe Acrobat is pretty much the go-to software of choice when it comes to dealing with PDF documents, but what we’d like to point out is how revolutionary and secure Adobe’s digital signing products. With Adobe Sign, you not only save tons of money from printing out hefty contracts and documents; you can rest assured that every document signed are 100% legal and also properly archived, ensuring accountability for every level of a transaction or process.

Is It Time to Buy?

When even Microsoft is using Adobe Sign, you’ll know for sure that this is the sort of product you’ll want to use too. And of course, if you often use PDF in your line of work or in your company, then having an Adobe Acrobat subscription plan is simply a must. You’ll not only save a lot of time, but it does make creating or editing your PDF much less of a pain than you’d expect.
