As an established publisher, I need to fight hard to retain the interest of my readers — and to win
new ones. This was one of the reasons why I was looking for a powerful and easy-to-use ePaper
service. After reading Yumpu reviews and taking part in a few online discussions, it became clear that the
Yumpu platform was getting rave reviews.

From the moment I registered, I found Yumpu to be both user-friendly and packed with the features I
needed. As I read several reviews before I chose the publishing platform, I thought I’d write one of
my own Yumpu review.

Embedding Code

I embed code for my magazines in several different places, including emails, newsletters, blogs,
websites and Facebook. This enables me to reach a larger audience than ever before. I also use the
Wordpress plugin, so blogging with Yumpu is also a breeze. Believe me, I’ve used lots of different
magazine publishing tools over the years, and I’ve never encountered one that handles embedding
this well.

Exceptional Levels of Support

A few years ago a friend of mine told me about the need for websites to be optimized for several
devices. After all, more and more people are using smartphones and tablets to access information
online. I have no coding expertise, and my web design skills are basic at best. This is why I chose
Yumpu. A range of different web tools are used to create magazines that look just as good on a four-

inch screen as they do on a monitor. Now, I only have to update my magazine once — and I always
know it’s going to look great on all platforms.


I signed up for a premium account, as I needed some serious help with advertising. I didn’t have
much experience in this area, so I needed a platform that would automate large parts of the process.
Yumpu utilises so-called “smart” banners to deliver the right message to the right readers. This has
saved me a lot of time, and secured a precious revenue stream.

I’ve got to admit that optimising websites and online magazines for search engines isn’t one of my
specialities. I wanted something that was good to go right out of the box — and Yumpu was perfect.
All of my content is automatically optimised for the likes of Google and Bing. Within a few days of
switching to Yumpu from my old publishing platform, I noticed a serious improvement in my search
engine rankings.

Ad-Free Design

As an aspiring publisher, money is tight, so I’ve always had to accept the presence of third-party ads
in my digital magazines. However, these ads weren’t providing me with any benefits, and they were interfering with presentation and reader experience. But I was able to sign up for an AdFree Yumpu
account and remove all of the unwanted advertisements from my publication.

This premium package also allowed me to use analytics to track the progress I was making. And the
control I was given over privacy was very helpful. I was suddenly able to control access with
password verification. It was up to me which of my magazines were made public, and which were
accessible only to people with a link. And Yumpu made it possible for me to give my readers control
over how they read my content — either on the screen or offline as a PDF document.

Running My Magazine as a Website with WebKiosk

While I have always wanted my main publication to be regarded as a magazine, I want to control it
like a website — and Yumpu allows me to do just that. The WebKiosk functionality allows me to
publish my magazine on my own domain, which is very important. My readers don’t see any Yumpu
branding, only my content. I have also been able to grow organic traffic, as the WebKiosk package
publishes content in a way that Google loves.

Although practical concerns are my priority, I have to say that Yumpu is lots of fun to use. I have
complete control of layout, colour schemes, content, logos and fonts. A simple drag-and-drop editing
interface allowed me to create a truly unique and distinctive online publication that looks just as
good as any of the world’s biggest magazines. My main magazine utilises several Yumpu features,
such as RDD feeds, HTML5, a video player, simple navigation and social media tools — all of which
improve the reading experience.

Great Customer Support

I have to admit to being a little nervous when I first signed up to Yumpu. As simple as the editor
interface is, it still took me a while to get the hang of things. I made a few mistakes along the way,
and learned a lot by trial and error. But I have to say that the customer service I received from the
support team at Yumpu was second to none.

At one stage I was struggling to create the look and layout I really wanted. I contacted tech support,
and the guys there couldn’t have been more helpful. With just two or three emails, I was able to
make the necessary changes and publish my content on time.

Growing My Income with Subscriptions

The lifeblood of my magazines is paying readers. If I can’t sell my content, I simply can’t continue to
create it. Thankfully, Yumpu has me covered in this area too. Not only is subscription selling simple
and very effective with Yumpu, you can do it through your own, dedicated apps. This feature has
allowed me to grow my audience of regular readers faster than I ever thought possible.

I’m getting a great service for the money I pay. Yumpu is a company that can be trusted, which is why
I’ll never go anywhere else. I started with a 30-day trial, which involved no obligation to sign up for a
paid package. There are no hidden fees, which is a problem in this game. A lot of platforms penalise
publishers for success by increasing charges when readership increases.

Thankfully, they've been nothing but completely honest and upfront with me, which is why this
Yumpu review is so positive. And although there are a couple of things I’d like to see added in the
future, I can’t see me using any other magazine publishing platform.
